Obama’s Lack of Experience Leads Him To Make Serious Policy Blunders

Obama signed the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act, MOVE Act. The bill required every state to send deployed military voters their requested ballots no later than 45 days prior to elections. One year later Arkansas, Illinois, New Mexico, New York… had failed to comply and in mid October of 2010 Massachusetts, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Washington had been granted Move Act wavers.
Obama has ordered the withdrawal of 33,000 from Afghan by September of next year. Obama speech: “As a result, starting next month, we will be able to remove 10,000 of our troops from Afghanistan by the end of this year, and we will bring home a total of 33,000 troops by next summer, fully recovering the surge I announced at West Point. After this initial reduction, our troops will continue coming home at a steady pace as Afghan Security forces move into the lead. Our mission will change from combat to support.” WP: “Neither his civilian advisers nor his military commanders won all that they had sought in Obama’s withdrawal decision, which will bring home 10,000 troops this year and another 23,000 by September 2012.
” LAT: “Wednesday evening, President Obama disregarded the preferred troop drawdown choice of his top general, David Petraeus, now headed to become director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Obama clearly appeared to be paying attention to the anti-war left wing of his party and to war-weariness reflected in polls after a 10-year conflict…” Later he continued: “Over the last decade, we have spent a trillion dollars on war, at a time of rising debt and hard economic times. Now, we must invest in America’s greatest resource, our people. We must unleash innovation that creates new jobs and industry, while living within our means. We must rebuild our infrastructure and find new and clean sources of energy. And most of all, after a decade of passionate debate, we must recapture the common purpose that we shared at the beginning of this time of war.”
This was not in any way related to Afghanistan, the military’s opinion, America’s national security, or the will of the people, it never is. Obama wants to build more roads, start another shovel ready program as shovel ready, fund the failed electric car companies so they can create more jobs. Fareed Zakaria, CNN: “It was a remarkable speech for an American president in the caution, the strategic emphasis, rather than the idealistic emphasis. … Every general always wants more troops. And I think that the job of the president is to say, I have concerns beyond just Afghanistan and Iraq…”
The same no business experience administration which is defining how company owners make their decisions is overstepping the generals in charge of the war. Whether it’s homes, the market, health, lunch, energy…, Obama always wants to drive the car. Obama makes decisions for the wrong reasons and there are always unintended consequences, amendments and excuses are still forthcoming with stimulus and ObamaCare. Obviously countries intent upon victory do not define troop withdrawals and dates as did Obama. Also, all of the facetime for all of the pullouts, unlike the media crowds fighting to photograph the caskets arriving, who will be covering these people when they go to the polls in November of 2012?
